1. The Problem

A large manufacturing enterprise with multiple plants and factory floors was struggling to monitor real-time machine data across locations. Operations teams faced challenges like:

The enterprise needed a smart mobile app to connect their IoT-enabled machines and provide real-time insights anytime, anywhere.

2. Our Approach

We started with on-site visits and interviews with plant managers, floor engineers, and IT heads to understand their existing workflows. Our UX/UI team created wireframes focused on real-time visibility, ease of navigation, and fast access to alerts.
Key design principles:

We worked closely with their internal IoT team for seamless API integration.

3. Solution

We developed a custom Industrial IoT Mobile App with the following key features:

  • Secure role-based access for Plant Managers, Engineers, and Supervisors.
  • Total Plants, Factory Floors, and Connected Machines
  • Active/Idle/Faulty Machine Count
  • Live Alerts, Energy Usage, and Downtime Summary
  • Drill down from plant → floor → machine
  • Real-time machine data: temperature, pressure, speed, uptime, etc.
  • Fault & error logs with timestamps
  • Graphs to view trends over time
  • Instant push notifications for fault, overload, downtime, or maintenance due
  • Color-coded status indicators (Green: Normal, Yellow: Warning, Red: Fault)
  • Log completed maintenance
  • View upcoming and overdue maintenance tasks
  • Assign tasks to on-ground technicians
  • Download daily, weekly, and monthly reports
  • View machine-wise or plant-wise efficiency metrics
  • User roles: Admin, Plant Manager, Supervisor, Technician
  • Access limited based on role and plant assignment

Secure sign-out for user safety

The app was built with an intuitive UX, fast loading time, and support for offline data sync in low-network zones.

4. Outcome

After the mobile app rollout:

The Industrial IoT Mobile App brought real-time visibility, speed, and control to the enterprise’s factory operations.
